Furman Receives IEEE-HKN Best Student Paper award at the 2026 IEEE SoutheastCon
Neil Furman, a master’s student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, received the IEEE-HKN Best Student Paper award at the 2026 IEEE SoutheastCon. His paper, “Design, fabrication, and performance of a multi-layer thermal plant with digital control for precision timing research and development” describes work that was conducted as both a Microchip sponsored project under the guidance of Dr. Todd Freeborn and the ACCEPT program (an NSF Research Traineeship program training graduate students in position, navigation, timing and frequency).
