2025 IEEE Southeast Conference
Students and faculty from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Department of Computer Science enjoyed the presentations, workshops and competitions at the 2025 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Southeast Conference hosted in Concord, North Carolina. This conference brings together professionals, faculty and students to promote awareness of the technical contributions of those working in the Southeast.
Our students did an outstanding job presenting their undergraduate research projects to their peers and other professionals. A group of five students shared their research on fractional-order circuits and systems. These projects were part of an NSF-funded International Research Experiences for Students program coordinated by Dr. Todd Freeborn in collaboration with Dr. Jaroslav Koton at the Brno University of Technology in the Czech Republic.
The ECE department also took the opportunity to showcase the exciting graduate study and research opportunities available in the department by conducting a recruiting exhibition at the conference. Connecting students to research opportunities remains a top priority for the department, both to advance the state of the art and to help students achieve their personal and career goals.
