Dear Award Recipients,
As Head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and on behalf of the faculty and staff, I congratulate each of you on the award for which you have been selected. As always, our Awards Committee had the very difficult task of selecting each of you from a large slate of highly deserving nominees. Your selection is truly a great honor, and we celebrate your achievements with you during this 2021 Honors Week. The list of awards and winners appears below. As I have learned more about each of you and the many things in which you are involved, it is clear to me that this is truly a place where “legends are made.”
Although this year we are again unable to have an in-person recognition, please know that the pride and excitement we have in and for each of you is not diminished. In fact, we recognize that your efforts that have earned this recognition were accomplished during some of the most trying times you may have ever known. So, in a sense, these awards should mean even more than they typically may mean. It is our sincere hope that our next recognition of departmental awards will, in fact, be in-person.
Again, we congratulate you on all that you have achieved here at UA. We wish you continued success, and we thank you for being a part of our ECE community. Please know that your impact will have long-lasting positive effects.
