As the Larry Drummond Endowed Chair, Dr. Yang-Ki Hong works to advance research in areas such as nano- and submicron scale magnetism (micromagnetic computer simulation, first principle calculations, Maxwell equations solvers), magnetic materials (soft and hard magnets: spinel ferrites, hexaferrites, magnetic nanoparticles, MnAl, MnBi, core-shell nanomagnets), and magnetic devices (antennas, inductors, magnetic tunneling junctions, current transformer, circulators, magnetic supercapacitors). He has published more than 100 refereed journal papers and presented about 170 papers at conferences and symposia. In addition, Hong has been awarded 13 patents and holds 8 US provisional patents.
